Windows dns reverse lookup zone not updating

I've been helping my company migrate to a new AD domain, and I've been learning a lot of stuff as I go.I've managed to configure everything so it works perfectly except the DNS reverse lookup.Visit Stack Exchange Yes, but it might not create the reverse lookup zone by default.Take a look at this technet article explaining how to setup a reverse lookup zone.

One could think that this is pretty easy to configure, enable, throw a gpupdate in and off we go.As we noticed that only Windows 7 workstations with a static IP were being registered we started troubleshooting. As an AD guy I was 100% confident we could get this done using GPO’s.Clients that join my domain automatically register a record in the forward lookup. The problem is that even though I have a reverse lookup zone set up for the subnet I'm on, no record is ever registered.
